Filter Design and Trouble-shooting for Aerospace Electronics: EUTs Undergoing Radiated and Conducted Testing: Emissions and Susceptibility
Short Course with Pat Andre

Who Should Attend:

This class would be relevant to engineers new to military EMC design, electrical engineers and engineering supervisors / managers.

Course Description:

This course will detail the protocols to follow when your device is unable to pass conducted emissions and susceptibility testing. Specifically:

  • Which measurement techniques to employ between the time you discover your device is not passing to the time you go in the chamber to see what has gone wrong.
  • Techniques on determining the source of the failure issue.
  • Filter fix techniques that can be reproduced through manufacturing.
  • Determining Shielding failure and how to fix it on your device.

This class will also cover the protocols to follow when your device is unable to pass radiated emissions and susceptibility testing. Specifically

  • Which measurement techniques to employ between the time you discover your device is not passing to the time you go in the chamber to see what has gone wrong.
  • Techniques on determining the source of the failure issue.
  • Shielding fix techniques that can be reproduced through manufacturing.

Bonus Lunch Presentation – Sheilding Materials Solutions
by Jon L. Borchardt of the 3M Electrical Markets Division

This brief presentation will dovetail into the morning classes by conducting a discussion around new materials that have been developed to meet the needs of manufacturers in a cost-conscious and fast moving market. There will also be a demonstration of the materials effectiveness and some take home samples for the attendees. Lunch will be available for class attendees, courtesy of 3M Electrical Markets Division.
